Hirttopuu as a project has been on my mind for some time now, but first actual steps towards materialisation of it came during early 2007 as I got the name idea from mercyful fate's "Old Oak Tree" and soon I got guitar that actually sounded same at beginning and at end of whole 3 minutes of playing and amp, effect and other required things. "Misantropik Khaos Ambience".

Hirttopuu is influenced including but not limited to following acts: Burzum, Mütiilation, Darvulia, Beherit, Belketre, Silencer, Gorgoroth and Ildjarn.
